Our Early Years - from elementary to graduation
The Elementary School Gallery: Where It All Began
Before we filled the halls of Robert Frost and became the Wootton Class of ’76, we were just kids on the playgrounds of Potomac and Rockville. Our class came together from all corners of the area—from suburban neighborhoods like Wayside, Fallsmead, Lakewood, and Ritchie Park, to the quiet horse country out near Travilah and Beverly Farms.
The Junior High Years: Becoming a Patriot
The early 1970s were a time of major transition for the Class of ’76. Before we were official high schoolers, our class was split across a couple of unique paths. Many of us became the very first students to walk the halls of the brand-new Robert Frost Junior High when it opened its doors in 1971. Meanwhile, another group of us bypassed the junior high buildings entirely, spending our 9th-grade year right at Wootton before the rest of the class arrived.
Whether you were rockin' the hallways at Frost or getting an early start as a 9th grader at Wootton, those junior high years are where our class truly started to unite.
The High School Years: Spirit of '76
This is where it all came together. From the fall of 1972 to our graduation in June 1976, we truly made Thomas S. Wootton High School our own. We were the historic Bicentennial class, ruling the school during an era of bell-bottoms, classic rock, incredible sports seasons, and unforgettable theater productions and dances.
From 9th-grade orientation all the way to the final walk across the stage to get our diplomas, these four years defined a lifetime of friendships. Whether you have snapshots from the parking lot, pep rallies, Spirit Week, prom, or just hanging out after class, here you will see your favorite high school memories below and let the good times roll!
